Devlog 02: Prototype


Intro

We're back! After a week with a lot of hard work, we are happy to show you the progress made. 

A lot has happened under the hood: we've finalized some of the UI designs, have another character concept in store and more! We even have a playable prototype with multiple items for you to test out!

A Quick Glimpse

Here's a quick glimpse of how our game will look! 🤭

Character Update!

A new character appeared! Introducing our little chocolate cone, sweetness overload. 🍫

Environment Update!

2 environment slices have been added. These are possibles layouts for the arena environment in which the bike battle will take place! These slices were designed by connecting simple shapes and making them into a blockout environment.


Select Menus

Since the players can choose which character and bike they play with, our select menu designs were very important! We've chosen a simple, clean, and modern layout! You can choose from a Tricycle, a Girly bike, a BMX, a Penny-farthing, or a racing bike! Who will you pair with which bike? 


Prototype

Items

A multitude of items can now be picked up and used to sabotage other players. The most basic of items were implemented this week. A throwable pizza and triple pizza, which stuns enemy players, and the thumb tack,  dropped behind the player. The player can also get the triple thumb tack, which allows the player to drop 3 thumb tacks whenever it pleases them.

Item blocks have been implemented as well, they will give the player a random item and respawn after a short while. 

Coins

The player can now pick up coins, and along with it, the win condition has been implemented. A player will lose up to three coins when hit by an item.
